The final product will present aspects serving to control life in Japan. These aspects are derived from everyday media like cinema, television, advertisement, manga..., but self shot video sequences and 2-D animations with my personal observations and ideas will be a crucial part too. This source material is processed to fit into the whole structure. Three different movies can be collected by an interface and finally played on an extra stage. The interferences and connotations between the pictures will cause new associations to see the sampled material.

There was a list with different subjects that I have been interested in at the beginning - now I will concentrate on the aspects of 'Control and Disobedience' among this list.

The developing of an appropriate interface is one of the most important tasks in the project. The interface has to provide the user with the necessary tools to find her way, but will also have to seduce her exploring the universe of the sampled material. A balance has to be found between delivering information and designing an appealing tool. I will design an interface which can help to orienteer, but which at the same time is constantly destroying the user's illusion to be in control of what is happening - thus reflecting situations in unfamiliar surroundings. Therefore the product will be constantly shifting between user control and random decisions by the machine.

A continously growing list according to the reference material I' m using for aspects of my project. The reference page contains short introductions to the used material, links to relevant pages and some comments in relation to the project.
